International Organization for Migration recrute un(e) RDH DTM Reporting Intern

The Internship Programme aims at attracting talented students and graduates who have a specific interest in, or whose studies have covered, areas relevant to IOM programmes and activities. Interns must be between 20 and 36 years old and should have less than two years of relevant working experience.

Located in IOM’s Dakar Regional Office, under direct supervision of the Regional DTM Officer and overall supervision of the RTS Data and Research, the successful candidate will integrate the Regional Office’s Regional Data Hub (RDH). This unit provides data and analysis expertise and guidance for implementing the IOM Strategic Plan and supports various stakeholders on migration and displacement data.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to production, analysis, writing, editing, and publication of DTM reports, factsheets, and dashboards under deadlines.
  • Assist in production, review, and interpretation of data, ensuring quality assurance.
  • Support data management and new initiatives including tool development and reporting.
  • Contribute to product design and data visualization for diverse audiences.
  • Provide updates on human mobility trends in coordination with colleagues and missions.
  • Assist in data quality control and coordinate with DTM Country Missions and global teams.
  • Conduct literature reviews and provide administrative and logistical support.

Training Components and Learning Elements

Hands-on experience in DTM report production, data analysis, visualization, and quality assurance aligned with IOM standards, including remote mission support, tool development, and contextual research on human mobility trends.

Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree in Economics, Data Science, Political Science, Social Science, Public Health, Epidemiology or related field with quantitative component, or a bachelor’s degree with relevant experience.

Skills: Fluency in English and French; proficiency with Microsoft Office 365; experience drafting analytic outputs; quantitative and qualitative research methods; knowledge of migration and development topics; ability to work efficiently in teams; experience with Adobe Suite, organizing events, programming languages such as R, Python, GIS software, SQL; communication skills in English and French, fluency in Arabic or Spanish advantageous.

Additional Information

Appointment is subject to funding confirmation, medical fitness, residency and visa verification. Interns may receive a small monthly stipend unless covered by another scholarship. IOM provides occupational accident coverage but not medical insurance for non-occupational illness. Zero tolerance policy on misconduct. No recruitment fees charged.
