Job Title: Ghana Country CoordinatorLocation: Remote in GhanaReporting to: Hannah Bernstein, EJN Program OfficerType of contact: Part-time termLOE: 50%Period: Two-year position, ending December 31, 2027Salary: US$1,000 per monthClosing date for applications: 25th October 2025Since 2004, Internews’ Earth Journalism Network has been working to support journalists to cover the environment more effectively, prioritizing those from low- and middle-income countries. EJN has more than 34,000 members worldwide and has trained more than 17,700 journalists supporting the production of more than 16,500 media stories on various environmental topics.To enable more reporting on ocean issues globally, EJN launched the Ocean Media Initiative supporting journalists and media organizations to report on ocean issues such as pollution, fisheries, biodiversity, extractive industries, and conservation targets.In late 2025, EJN starts a two-year project focusing on Ghana, Philippines, and Mexico, to report on the 30x30 marine conservation target to protect 30% of the ocean by 2030.The Ghana Country Coordinator role is a part-time (50%) position to lead on-ground and virtual activities in Ghana and provide strategic and operational support to the project. Reporting to the Program Officer at Internews US office and collaborating globally.Responsibilities include:Plan and manage logistics for events in Ghana including virtual workshops and webinarsAssist travel, catering, lodging arrangementsAssist in hiring local journalism trainers and producing tipsheets or toolkitsLiaise and promote projects to journalists, media houses and networks in GhanaParticipate in grant judging, including reviewing applications and interviewsProvide support to grantees and liaise with Internews US on payments and troubleshootingConduct monitoring and evaluation including surveys and impact trackingSupport communications materials production including social media, newsletters, reportsNetwork with funders, partners and other Internews/EJN projects in GhanaAttend regular virtual meetings and participate in strategy sessionsUphold Internews’ Core Values of Belonging, Dignity, and JusticeQualifications:Experience organizing workshops or meetings, ideally for journalism or mediaStrong network of journalists and media organizations in Ghana with media landscape understandingProject administration/coordination experienceAbility to work independently and in multicultural remote environmentsExcellent English communication skills; other regional languages a plusStrong time management and organizational skillsWillingness to work outside normal hours and travel within GhanaPreferred: Work/education in media, environmental issues or international development, prior international nonprofit experience, and experience in monitoring and evaluationPhysical demands and work environment: Normal vision requirements, moderate noise, mainly office hours with some evening meetings, regular computer use.For full details and to apply, please visit the application link below.POSTULERexclusif
