The International Development Company recrute un Project Coordinator / Team Leader

Project Coordinator / Team Leader (Agronomist – Socio-economist / Advocacy specialist)

Background:
The International Development Company, a research and development firm headquartered in Canada, is seeking several experts to implement a project in Niger.

Objective of the assignment:
The assignment requires support to:

  • Install and operationalize 25 solar-powered agro-processing units;
  • Develop at least 5 value-added products from cowpea and peanuts;
  • Train 600 women and youth on processing, quality, hygiene, packaging, storage, business management, and market linkages;
  • Train and support 40 community relays and 6 municipal health workers;
  • Establish 15 Community Nutrition Monitoring and Vigilance Groups (CNMVGs);
  • Strengthen local institutions, producer organizations, and entrepreneurs through assessments, training, and public-private dialogue;
  • Diagnose financial barriers and develop financial inclusion mechanisms;
  • Produce high-quality reports, evidence, and handover documentation.

Expected outcomes:

Outcome 1: The productivity and resilience to climate change of cowpea, peanut and market gardening production systems are strengthened in the departments of Dakoro and Gazaoua through the adoption of sustainable and climate-smart agricultural practices.

Outcome 2: The technical, entrepreneurial and organizational capacities of 50 producer organizations (POs) led or led by women and young people are strengthened, with a view to optimizing production, processing, marketing and access to financing in the targeted value chains.

Outcome 3: The diet and nutrition of 24,500 people is improved, including through school canteens, thanks to the increased consumption of local products with high nutritional value.

Outcome 4: The institutional frameworks are strengthened at local and national levels to create an inclusive environment conducive to sustainable and coordinated implementation of food systems initiatives, including for the promotion of targeted value chains and the improvement of food and nutrition security.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

  • Education level: Bachelor's degree (BAC+4 or 5) with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of expertise
  • Approval of workplans, training schedules, and knowledge products.
  • Quality assurance of reports, videos, technical notes, and dissemination events.
  • Support and Manage Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) activities (Monitoring achievement of outputs and deliverables.)
  • Overall leadership, planning, and coordination of all activities.
  • Liaison with government institutions, municipalities, financial institutions, private sector actors, and project partners.
  • Supervision of technical staff and field teams.
  • Oversight of implementation plans, budgets, and reporting.
  • Ensure integration of gender, youth, nutrition, and climate-sensitive approaches.
