Child Safeguarding:
The responsibilities of this post may require the post holder to have regular contact with children and young people. All posts overseas are considered to be level 3. The post holder will support the establishment of child safeguarding systems, promote a culture of keeping children safe, and ensure that potential harm to children (by our staff and/or how we do our work) is identified and addressed on an ongoing basis. The post holder should report and respond to interventions as determined by the Child Safeguarding Policy.
Role Purpose:
The candidate will provide statistical analysis and other information to support management decision making within the Child Protection for the Reaching out of school (ROOSC) Project in Kaduna state. The CPIMS Officer will assist in the setting up and implementation of the information management system as part of case management responses for children vulnerable to abuse, exploitation, neglect and violence. The candidate will ensure up to date and quality data on both programme performance and quality delivery while maintaining high professional standards of all Child Protection Programmes.
Scope of Role:
Ensure all information collected from field sites as part of case management responses for children at risk are safely and accurately filed and stored. Support case workers by extracting individual caseload information. Ensure data protection protocols are observed. Uphold SCI Child Safeguarding Policy and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse in workplace and communities.
Key Areas of Accountability:
Technical Quality: Accurate data entry into IA CPIMS+ database, generate case follow-up lists, provide statistics and reports, conduct data quality checks, provide feedback and mentoring to case management supervisors and workers, maintain confidentiality, handle data requests, supervise coding in field sites.
Coordination & Representation: Communicate with caseworkers and coordinator, attend case management and inter-agency CPIMS meetings.
Grant Monitoring and Reporting: Provide input for weekly and staff reports, monitor case management trends.
Accountability functions: Seek complaints and feedback actively in the community, maintain complaints database with follow-up.
Other: Perform other duties as requested and proactively improve camp activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Social Sciences or equivalent, or Diploma with minimum 3 years experience in child protection sector. Knowledge of child protection in emergencies, case management, child rights. Excellent communication, report writing skills, flexibility, and commitment to child protection policies. Fluency in English; Hausa is a plus.
Desirable qualifications:
Experience with IA CPIMS, understanding of monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning concepts, experience working with refugees and host communities, especially in Somali context.
