Through information management, we help our partners target assistance to the world’s most vulnerable populations, and we support local authorities and institutions to enhance their capacities and become autonomous in their internal data and information management activities. Scope of work The ANTICIPA initiative is a groundbreaking project designed to transform humanitarian response by leveraging advanced AI. By fusing formal data with community-sourced intelligence into a comprehensive knowledge graph, ANTICIPA utilizes AI agents to provide non-technical users with actionable insights, risk analysis, and critical decision support directly through common messaging apps. The Intern Liaison will support the ANTICIPA Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, supporting as the critical bridge between the needs of humanitarian community and local institutions in Sokoto. The intern candidate will support the development of activities related to the enhance the strategic adoption, contextualization, and successful implementation of the ANTICIPA platform within the local humanitarian architecture. The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge in the humanitarian context in Sokoto and speak fluent English, Hausa and Fulfulde. In addition, the candidate is strongly technological and understand digital literacy and how digital platforms operate, particularly conversational AI tools such as chatbots. Description of Duties Support community mobilization and awareness activities to ensure that the ANTICIPA platform is well understood and adopted at the grassroots level. This could include organizing and facilitating sensitization sessions with community members, leaders to introduce the chatbot and its functions. Interns should assist with registering users on the platform and guiding them on how to interact with the system, including reporting hazards, sending photos or voice notes, and receiving alerts and preparedness information. Outreach efforts may involve door-to-door engagement, small group discussions, and community demonstrations to encourage participation. Where users encounter technical challenges or difficulties navigating the system, interns should help troubleshoot basic issues and escalate more complex problems to the technical team. They may also support the testing of newly introduced chatbot features and provide practical feedback on usability and accessibility based on real community interactions. Support community-based data collection initiatives that contribute to the ANTICIPA knowledge system. Support capacity-building efforts aimed at strengthening community use of the ANTICIPA platform. This may involve supporting training sessions for community leaders, volunteers, and first responders on how to effectively use the chatbot and its advanced functions. Community engagement Support the humanitarian coordinator in developing a comprehensive community engagement strategy for ANTICIPA in Sokoto, ensuring a people-centered design and implementation. Support the design and delivery of training programs and carry out the workshop and trainings to community leader, local institutions, authorities, etc., according to the strategy of the Humanitarian Coordinator. Operational Compliance When implementing the activities, ensure alignment to 3iS operationally, security procurement and financial regulations, in close coordination with de Humanitarian Requirements Education A university degree or last semester in International Relations, Humanitarian Affairs, Economics, Data Science, Information Management, Computer Science or related field. Interims must be from Sokoto. Languages Fluency in English. Professional working proficiency in Hausa and Fulfulde. Experience Minimum of 1 years of professional experience in the humanitarian sector, with a significant portion of that time spent working in Nigeria, preferably in Sokoto.
